Chrystie Cappelli's jewelry designs display a subtle elegance and evidence of antiquity, inspired by her personal aesthetic and choice of material. She uses her metal background to create hybrid woven and assemblage pieces. By weaving metals, wool, and silk she creates beautiful mesh fabrics. She then adds antique buttons, snaps, beads, and the likes to create amazingly jaw dropping jewelry. Deftly crafted earrings with monocles, pulleys, and other cool antique finds create unique, one of kind pieces. While her work may at first appear tough and industrial, her pieces are in fact quite delicate. Chrystie received her BFA in Sculpture from the California College of Arts and Crafts. She currently works as a metal fabricator. As a member of Missing Piece, she designs for costumes, special occasions, and couture. |
