Kristen Holden’s professional career in the arts began in writing, yet she does not subscribe to any single media.

Holden received her MFA at Saint Mary’s College of California and her BA at the University of California at Santa Cruz in Literature and Creative Writing.

Artistic interests include: sexual discovery in girlhood, typography, collections & archives, mental illness, pornography, double-vision and urbanity. Among her influences are Myung Mi Kim, Yusef Komunyakaa, John Yau, Anni Albers, Merce Cunningham, Julio Cortazar and Leslie Scalapino.
